My new bedding

This week we bought Ela her first duvet (or doona, depending on where you come from). As the weather gets colder, even though she wears two sets of pj’s and has three blankets on her bed, she still wakes up cold as she continues to have the annoying habit of kicking off all the bedclothes during the night and hasn’t yet learnt how to pull up the covers over herself.

So I made her a cover to match her pooh bear curtains.

Now thinking ahead, I thought it best to get a single size duvet – even though that is twice the size of her current bed, as she will be moving ‘up’ to a single bed at the end of the year when the baby gets her cot. And since I backed the doona cover with yellow ‘pooh bear coloured’ fleece, it is this enormous bundle of fluff. However it did the trick as this morning after her first night under it, she (and therefore I) had a whole hour extra in bed – obviously kept her snug as.
