snow bunny
We went down to the snowy mountains this weekend, same as last year, but there was so much less snow. It was positively warm! Ela took this opportunity to try out the tobogan on the gravel. In fact she enjoyed filling the 'bog' with stones and wasn't too keen to move onto the snow. When we did though, she was quite unsure about the whole experience. She always asked for 'one more' when we climbed the hill but wasn't sure about climbing in the tobogan. We think maybe she enjoyed it better last year when she didn't know what was going on. Now she knows fear, it's kicking in a bit. We recon next year she'll be ready for skiis, but she'll be learning with her dad the speed demon.
We stayed at a little stone cottage in Old Adaminaby, took the dogs and basically had a lovely weekend, so even thought he snow was sparse, it was still a success. Ela enjoyed watching her daddy light the log fire - and tried to do it herself the following morning (put bits of wood on the dead fire). She also had her first experience of sleeping in a real bed - we didn't trust her to stay in it so we brought the matress into our room. In the middle of the first night, I found her face down in the middle of floor (fast asleep) and the second night she did a back flip off the top of the matress and I found her curled in a ball on the floor in the corner. But when we packed up to leave and we took the matress back into the other bedroom she cried and cried 'Ela's bed Ela's bed'.

Looks like you had a lovely weekend together. What a big clever girl Ela is turning into!
