Ela's first day

Ela started Childcare yesterday and by all accounts it was a good day! She wasn't particularly bothered that I left her there (no tears) she headed straight for the lego bucket and I made a swift exit. By all accounts she had a morning sleep and plenty to eat (shepards pie for lunch!), she did some painting and plenty of 'watching'. Her teachers told me she was a delight (although no doubt they say that to everyone) and they were very impressed with her pretty bag. That was a present from Nannie and although it is almost big enough for her to climb inside, it was a big success. Nannie also ran up a second 'blankie' identical to the original but without the embroidery so she took this one and it come home full of paint slobber and well who knows what. Ela will be going every monday which gives me a much needed break and her an opportunity to socialise. Dad's been teaching her how to protect herself but she's had plenty of practise already, with the dogs!

 
And another first over the weekend was Ela feeding herself yoghurt. She managed to get plenty of spoonfuls in the mouth which drew applause from us and then she thought that's what she had to do so after each mouthful she gave herself a clap and yes the yoghurt went everywhere!
