Routines at 15 months

A few notes about Ela’s Routine. These days Ela wakes up around 6am. She drinks a huge bottle of milk in bed with mum then as soon as she’s finished she climbs down and goes for a wander around the house to see if anything has changed since she went to bed. She will often retrieve some toy or ‘object’ and bring it in to the bedroom for my inspection.

A nappy change and fight over what she’s wearing (she hates standing still while I dress her) is followed by breakfast (Weetabix, milk, fruit and yoghurt). We often go for a morning swim or walk with George and Molly. Ela loves to get their lead from the hall and tries (unsuccessfully) to get it round Molly’s neck.

She will have a morning sleep from around 9 till 10.30am then it’s up and about…toys, investigating, baby Einstein video, fruit, ride on, books, drink or quite often a trip out in about to meet friends or go shopping. And whenever I can’t find my keys I just ask Ela and she’ll either point them out or get them for me!

Lunch around 12.30 could be anything from Mum n Dad’s leftover dinner scraps to vegemite and cheese on toast or even a chucky egg and soldiers. Afternoon nap (if I’m lucky) around 2pm till 3.30ish then more of the same.

Dinner about 5pm consists of the same stuff as lunch, followed by a bob the builder yoghurt (which is very messy as she insists on feeding it to herself) then a bath about 6pm. Bathtime is still fun – she loves pouring water over her head and of course still likes to drink the water when I’m not looking. She still uses her bath seat but afterwards, getting dry and dressed is another battle. A bottle of warm milk and a quick story before bed at 6.30pm and she sleeps all the way through
