Kites over the Mersey

Today we went to New Brighton for the annual Wirral Kite festival. It was excellent fun, especially watching Ela try to fly her little one...she had more energy than I so she was slightly more successful! There were kites from all over the world, our favourites were the inflatables and the dragon kites (both English and Chinese).

Ela also had great fun rolling down a hill, dancing to some country and Western music (she was wearing a cowgirl outfit so it was perfect timing), eating ice cream and just running mad in the wind. She wasn't too impressed with the 'make your own kite' tent. She proclaimed it was 'too boring' and insisted we buy one instead...I'd call it lack of patience as the queue was rather long and there were interesting toys to play with outside.
