Birthday Bash

The big day dawned with an excited whisper in my ear "Are we going to my party today" - this at 6am after the clocks went forward, and I went to bed at 1am after a disasterous baking experience.
Well Ela thoroughly enjoyed herself for three hours, surrounded by all her favourite people (and some new ones). There were only three bouts of tears - not bad considering the lack of sleep and the excitement level.
We started with a treasure hunt, followed by face-painting by Lili Pili the clown. During this we did 'craft' and the kids decorated thier own lolly boxes, then we had pass the parcel, big bubbles, balloon making and finally a horse race - won outstandingly by Liah and her mum Maria!
Of course we all sang happy birthday around the lolly dolly/princess/ballerina cake loving made (and remade three times) by Nannie and complete with sparklers.
Thanks to everyone who came along on a very hot day and help Ela celebrate. Thanks also for all the lovely presents everyone gave her.
