A sniffle or two

This weekend Ela caught her first cold. It was so sad to hear her trying to breathe at night...well snorting is more descriptive. As we still have her in our room (yes much to many people's surprise, we love having her with us at night!) we spent a few nights listening for her breathing - how do they know to open their mouth??? interspersed with wishing she would quieten down. There were tears at bedtime - something we haven't had for many months now, and although she slept a little longer during the day, she was still up at 5am demanding her morning milk. We haven't had to set the alarm clock since March as she is regular as clockwork on this score!

I was so sad for her and it was just a sniffle - what do you do when your child gets really sick?
